English. Moday, 1st of June

Good morning! How are you? How was your weekend?Today we start June, that means that we have nearly finished the course.
Today, we will learn the past of "there was / there were" (Hay en pasado: había). Have a look to this picture to make clear how to use each one and copy it in your notebooks.

As you can see, we use there was for singular and there were for plural.
Have a look to this video to undestand it better: video
If it is not clear yet, we suggest you to watch this other video: Longer video
Now, We want you to understand the difference between using some and any.

Here you have some examples: there were some books on the table.
There weren´t any books on the table.
Were there any books on the table?
We use some and any for plural. Some ,only for positive sentences and any for negative and questions.
Finally, you have to know that with sentences in singular, we use a/an.
Example: there was a banana on the table. (It´s a, because next word starts with consonant).
There was an apple on the table. (It´s an because next word starts with vowel)

Watch this video to clarify: some any video
Consolidate the new learnings by filling this worksheet. Worksheet
Now open your classbook at page 89, listen and complete interactive activity 1. To finish you will listen to Rachel talking about the differences between two pictures.

Now, you have to find six differences between these two pictures. Use there was and there were.
